I am working on a book based on notes and photographs that Charles Sonnanstine gave to me around 1996. It was an odd exchange as I didn't know him but he wished to pass them along to a harpsichord maker. It took me a few years to figure out what I had and think it valuable information in the history of the harpsichord in the 20th Century. I am looking for people who knew him and could give me some background information on his life. My harpsichord website is KevinFryer.net There is a short mention of this collection of notes and photos under the library section. I'm hoping that you can be of some help. Thank you Kevin Fryer

Apparently a "concert/tea" was held on October 23, 2004 to honor Lu Watters. I wish I had known. I am wondering if such an event might be held on or near Lu's birthday, Dec. 11, in 2011, or some other date in the fairly near future. Maybe you are already planning to do so. I hope so. In any event I hope that some such event is planned. Even though I live in Sacramento, I'll be glad to try to help in anyway I can. I am a big fan of Lu Watters-for many years now.

Subject: Bob Guerner/Club Hangover

Good morning I came across a Spring 2006 edition of your newsletter, and then found your web site while searching for info on Bob Guerner and Club Hangover. We are Acrobat Music, a UK-based record label involved in catalogue and re-issue material including jazz and blues. We have a sizeable catalogue of products (www.acrobatmusic.net) and are about to start releasing enw material after a hiatus caused by a rift with our former investors. We know Storyville Records well, and are releasing some material from their catalogue which has not been out before, and one of the first projects is a collection of the broadcasts from Club Hangover by Teddy Buckner's All Stars in June-Sept. 1955. The quality of the recordings is fantastic and the atmosphere created by Bob Guerner's intros and links adds a valuable dimension. I am looking for more info on the Club and Bob to give some background in the booklet - I wonder if you have anything on file? On a wider and more strategic note, although I appreciate that the article is 4 years old, but the front page of the Spring 2006 magazine refers to the archive of recordings that Ken Ackerman and Dave Radlauer have. I would be very interesting in making contact with them to see if there are any recordings which we might license or do a joint venture to bring to the wider market - we have good international distribution and can do a good job with collectors-oriented repertoire. Would you be able to put us in touch with them or other potential sources of repertoire? Also, when we release this kind of material, would you be prepared to review it for us and point your readers in the direction of places they can buy it? I look forward to your thoughts. Yours sincerely PAUL WATTS Trapeze Music & Entertainment Ltd. 1 Norfolk Court Norfolk Road Rickmansworth Herts. WD3 1LA +44 (0)1923 777177 paul@acrobatmusic.net www.acrobatmusic.net

Gentlemen, I will be visiting the Bay Area from 27 June to 11 July and would like to hear some good traditional jazz. Can you help me to find some? A web site? A journal?
